I was born in New Hampshire, raised in California, and spent most summers growing up with my grandparents downeast in Maine.
After studying art and languages at the University of California at Santa Cruz and graduating from University of California at Berkeley I spent some time working in Saudi Arabia, then followed Graphic Design studies in Germany, ending up in New York City working as a graphic designer for many years.

I later moved to London with my partner and continued in graphics and fine art while raising a family.

After London, we lived in Durham, Maine, for four years, then California for 22 years, breaking up our time in California with an interim four years in The Netherlands. In 2021 we  returned to Maine to settle down in the City of Portland.

At this time, I am most inspired by the cliffs, rocks and forests of the North Atlantic coast of the United States, as well as painting individuals and the joy of swimming.
